Manmohan Singh Chauhan was born in a remote village called gangad in the Uttarkashi District of Uttarakhand. His childhood was marked by numerous hardships due to the absence of roadways and electricity connectivity in his village. However, these challenges only served to fortify his determination. He pursued self-directed studies, learned mountaineering and water rafting, and began working in reputable organizations. During this period, he enrolled in various educational courses to enhance his skills, including Basic Mountaineering Course (BMC), Advanced Mountaineering Course (AMC), Water Sports Training, Life-saving CPR Training, and Basic First Aid from NOLS – India, alongside First Aid Training by the Indian Red Cross Society. Having accumulated about 13 years of experience as an adept trek leader and water sports expert in various organizations Hi decided to establish his own company. Driven by a vision to offer a completely novel experience to trek enthusiasts in the Himalayas, Ecohiking was founded in 2015. Manmohan singh Chauhan is a self-made individual with immense enthusiasm and willpower, guided by a belief in working with honesty. He follows a philosophy derived from the Bhagavad Gita that encapsulates ‘Work is Worship.’ This verse profoundly influences both his life and work.
